Heel Your Feet Foot Care

Are your toenails too thick, long or in-grown? Is it difficult for you to reach and care for your feet? Do you have diabetes or circulatory problems and would like a foot care professional to come to you? These are some of the reasons to call Heel Your Feet Foot Care and Kirsten Antony, RN.

Kirsten provides non-cosmetic medical pedicures, diabetic foot care, health and hygiene education and tools. Kirsten completed the Medical University of South Carolina's (MUSC) Foot & Nail Care Course for RNs and is practicing level II foot care since 2001.

Heel Your Feet provides Level II, non-cosmetic foot and nail care services from a registered nurse for seniors, hospice patients, those with diabetes, circulatory or other problems.

An assessment is done followed by foot and toe nail care including manual debridement (careful trimming) of toenails, filing of non-painful corns and calluses, and applying an aromatherapy or unscented lotion with foot and lower extremity massage if not contraindicated. The assessment includes evaluation of hygiene, skin, toe nails, mobility, condition of footwear, and level of understanding regarding foot care (referrals to appropriate specialists).

Heel Your Feet nurse Kirsten Antony schedules appointments for foot care in group care facilities, assisted living centers, and senior centers as well as appointments in private homes. Kirsten provides all necessary supplies, but may need access to water and towel for home visit. Reflexology

Kirsten Antony, RN, has been certified in Reflexology since 2001 through the Colorado School of Healing Arts.

In general, reflexology benefits the body by reducing stress. Because the feet and hands help set the tension level for the rest of the body, they are an easy way to interrupt the stress signal and reset homeostasis, the body's equilibrium.

A Reflexology session for an hour includes a foot bath with aromatherapy salts or oils and aromatherapy oil or lotion.

Healing Touch

Founded by Janet Mentgen, RN, in 1989 as a continuing education program for nurses, other health care professionals, and lay persons, Healing Touch is used in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, long term care facilities, hospices, and in private practices.

Healing Touch is a relaxing, nurturing energy therapy. Gentle touch assists in balancing your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Healing Touch works with your energy field to support your natural ability to heal. It is safe for all ages and works in harmony with standard medical care.

Kirsten Antony, RN, has completed the Healing Touch program through Level IV and has been a Healing Touch practitioner since 1991.

Sound Healing

Sound healing is a healing modality that uses various sounds and musical elements to promote healing and well-being. It works on the principle that everything in the universe, including our bodies, vibrates at different frequencies. By using specific sounds and frequencies, sound healing aims to bring the body into a state of vibrational balance and harmony, leading to deep relaxation and healing.

In a sound healing session, Kirsten Antony, RN, uses a variety of instruments such as tuning forks, gongs, and singing bowls, as well as her voice, to create healing vibrations. These vibrations can positively affect the physical, emotional, and subtle bodies, as well as brain wave patterns. The goal is to induce a state of deep relaxation, which allows the body's natural healing processes to occur.

Sound healing can be a passive experience, where the client simply lies down and receives the healing sounds, or it can be participatory, involving toning or chanting. Toning is the use of elongated vowel sounds to create vibrations that can bring the body into balance.

A typical sound healing session with Kirsten lasts approximately 60 minutes and may be combined with other healing modalities such as reflexology or Healing Touch for a more comprehensive healing experience.
